About

I spent my student years in Japan, where I was surrounded by people who naturally viewed Japanese-made guitars as reliable, well-built instruments.

Yet outside Japan, I noticed a gap. Players all over the world use Japanese guitars, but many music stores only carry a limited selection — often just Ibanez or Yamaha, and usually in small numbers.

While information about Japanese guitars does exist online, much of it is hard to follow, outdated, or scattered, with very few modern, easy-to-navigate platforms actively sharing their stories.

MIJ Guitar Guide was created to bridge that gap — to make Japanese guitars more accessible, easier to understand, and explored in proper depth, so players everywhere can discover instruments that truly enrich their guitar lives.
